Kat Cahir is a LEED accredited professional with expertise as a team leader, designer, and project manager for a broad range of building types, including cultural, education, and institutional projects. Her experience engaging with a wide range of stakeholders enables her to collaborate effectively and distill input into effective design and technical solutions.
Her work at Maginniss + del Ninno Architects and other firms has included leadership in all phases of design and construction, with significant roles for higher education and major cultural projects, including the Smithsonian Renwick Gallery and the Patuxent River Naval Air Museum. She has a keen eye for constructability developed through many years working in the field as a construction professional, and has taught sustainable design and construction in university and technical college settings.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Physics degree from Harvard College and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Texas at Austin. At UT, she received graduate honors for Design Excellence and was elected by her peers to serve on several UTSOA governance and hiring committees.
She is pursuing her architectural registration and is active as a community volunteer in the Alexandria, Virginia and Washington, DC area.
