Skip Maginniss

Principal
Skip Maginniss has more than forty years of diverse experience, with thirty-eight years as a principal/officer of the firm. Prior to founding Maginniss + del Ninno Architects (formerly named BMK), he practiced in national firms and in Vienna, Austria where he directed the design of corporate and educational buildings.
Mr. Maginniss is a LEED Accredited Professional and maintains membership in the AIA, the NCARB, the National Capital USGBC, the ICC, and the CEFPI. He is an ICC certified plan reviewer and peer reviewer for Fairfax County, Virginia. Mr. Maginniss has lectured at local colleges and has contributed to professional journals. He has received design awards as well as the President's Medal from Mount St. Mary's College, Emmitsburg, Maryland, and the Architect of the Year Award (1989) The District of Columbia CEAS.
He is an active member of the Alexandria, Virginia community with the City Chamber of Commerce, and currently sits on the City's Budget and Fiscal Affairs Advisory Committee, the Ad Hoc Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan Advisory Committee and is Chair of the Ad Hoc Combined Sewer System Plan Stakeholder Group.
