Second District Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad

New Construction

MAGINNISS + DEL NINNO ARCHITECTS compiled a team of experienced designers including fire station design consultant Stewart Cooper Newell Architects to develop the program and concept design for a new fire station.  Working closely with the Second District fire department a floor plan was developed that includes a residential wing, an administrative wing, a large training classroom, a fitness ares, and social spaces for volunteer fire fighters. Seven apparatus bays were designed as a prefabricated metal building, while the rest of the fire station is conventionally framed.

The new 32,000 SF fire station provides space for the volunteer fire department to grow and attract new volunteers by providing a state of the art facility with fast internet access, attractive shared spaces, and individual bunk rooms.
