Tenant Fit Out

When the owners of Sweet Lobby wanted to develop a contemporary spice market and boulangerie further south on 8th Street, they relied on Maginniss + Del Ninno Architects to help them realize their visions.

At the entrance, you are introduced to the origin of the spices through artifacts and maps of the spice trade on the walls. Approaching the rear of the store, you are engaged by the spice testing center. There are over 200 spice test tubes to examine and smell. 100 spice jars are displayed on a full-height custom library shelving covering the back wall and accessed by a rolling ladder. An arrangement of colorful macarons is displayed on the custom retail point of the sale counter. Within the space given the architect was able to separate a market from its dining space.
